TV comics to headline Fitz Fest 2 in Stourbridge

TV comics Lost Voice Guy and Angelos Epithemiou will take centre stage as a Stourbridge pub hosts its second weekend comedy festival later this year.

The duo are among 13 pro acts who will perform as part of Fitz Fest 2, which will be held in the marquee at Katie Fitzgerald’s in Wollaston from November 8 to November 11.

It follows a successful debut event in June at the pub, where comics including Paul Sinha and Seann Walsh performed to more than 400 people over the course of the weekend.

Britain’s Got Talent winner Lost Voice Guy is headlining the opening night on Thursday November 8 in a show which is already sold out.

Burger van owner Angelos, who appeared on Shooting Stars and went on to have his own TV series, will headline on Saturday November 10.

Tez Ilyas, a fast-rising comic tipped for the top who has already appeared on Mock The Week and BBC sitcom Man Like Mobeen, will headline on Friday November 9.

Closing the festival on Sunday November 11 will be Paul Tonkinson, former host of C4’s The Big Breakfast and as seen on Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow.

Two pro support acts will appear on each bill, with all nights hosted by resident MC Wayne Beese, from Dudley.
The four-day extravaganza is being put on by organisers of the pub’s regular monthly award-winning Fitz of Laughter Comedy Club and tickets are now on sale for the remaining three shows.

Beese said: “We’re really excited about this weekend.

“The first festival we put on in June was really well attended and we got great feedback, so we thought we’d try another one in the winter.

“We’re delighted with the four headliners we’ve been able to attract.

“They are all brilliant acts in their own right who, as well as appearing on TV, regularly appear at all the big comedy clubs at home and abroad.

“On top of that we’ve got two brilliant support acts on each night as well, so you’re pretty much guaranteed a great night out.

“They will be four amazing nights, and if we can fill the marquee and get it rocking for the whole weekend then who knows, it could become an annual thing.”

The comedy club has been running for nearly four years and put on a host of star stand-up names including Joe Lycett, Tom Stade, Hal Cruttenden and Gary Delaney.

Tickets for Fitz Fest 2 cost £15 per show plus booking fees.
