A child sex attacker has been jailed for 15 years after a West Midlands Police investigation exposed six months of abuse.
Tyrone Kirnon, from Quinton, carried out a series of sex attacks against a girl until she bravely came forward to speak to officers in January last year.
The girl, aged under 13, recalled her traumatic experiences to specialist officers in the public protection unit who were able to further investigate Kirnon’s depraved actions.
Kirnon was convicted of eight sex offences including rape and inciting sexual activity with a child following a trial.
The 25-year-old of Simmonds Drive, Quinton, was sentenced to 15 years in prison and put on the sex offender’s register for life at Birmingham Crown Court on Thursday (18 July).
Detective Constable Adam McHugh, from the child abuse investigation team, said: “Kirnon was a sexual predator who carried out abuse against a young girl.
“It was down to her bravery and courage in coming forward that we were able to fully investigate his despicable crimes.
“Kirnon now faces many years behind bars and we hope this will provide some sense of justice to his victim.”
