Fresh appeal for potential witness to fatal Quinton collision

Police investigating a fatal collision in Quinton are urging a potential key witness to come forward.

Officers are keen to speak to the driver of this white van which is believed to have been in the area around the time Ellis Haarhoff’s motorbike hit a tree in Wolverhampton Road last Sunday (9 September).

The 18-year-old rider was taken to hospital with serious injuries but sadly died the following morning.

Traffic police are still working to establish the circumstances of the collision that took place around 11.45pm and want to trace the driver of the white van who may have information which can assist the investigation. It is believed to have turned into Hagley Road towards Quinton.

Pc Mark Crozier, from the Collision Investigation Unit, said: “Our thoughts remain with the family of Ellis at this devastating time.

“We are determined to find out exactly what occurred in the build up to the bike hitting the tree.

“From our enquiries we understand a white van was in the area at the time and we need the driver to speak to us about what they saw.”
